
Marie Cote Kirschbaum, 56, of North Granby, beloved wife of Richard S. Kirschbaum, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Stafford Springs on June 1, 1960, daughter of the late Arthur Cote Jr. and Anna (Marocchini) Cote, she was raised in Enfield and was a graduate of Fermi High School, Class of 1978. After high school, Marie continued her education at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated with her degree as a registered nurse. Marie worked as an intensive care nurse at St. Francis Hospital for over 35 years and was a model for others in the medical field. Her passion, compassionate care, and bedside manner were highly regarded by everyone who had the privilege of working with her.
Marie moved to Granby in 1991 and became an active part of the community. She was very involved in her son's many activities and was a selfless volunteer in the Granby Public Schools for many years.

Besides her husband of 25 years, she leaves a son, Cody Adam Kirschbaum of North Granby; two brothers, Arthur Cote III and his wife Donna and Andrew Cote and his wife Vandeth all of Enfield, a sister, Donna Major and her husband Michael of Granby, MA; three nephews; and three nieces.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 4-8 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15, 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Burial will be private.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Marie Kirschbaum Nursing Scholarship Fund, c/o Simsbury Bank, P.O. Box 377, Granby, CT 06035.
