
Mary E. "Betty" Schoepflin, 91, of Granby, beloved wife of the late Richard H. Schoepflin, for 45 years, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Born in Hull, MA on October 19, 1924 to Richard and Ethel (Trapp) Jenkins, she was raised in Scituate, MA and graduated from Scituate High School where she also worked for several years. In 1952, she and her husband Richard moved to Granby where they raised their family. They also treasured many summers at their cottage in Wells, ME, where they enjoyed many lobster dinners fresh off the lobster boats. Betty also lived in East Granby where she was active in that community. She had been a member of the First Congregational Church in Granby for 63 years.
Betty is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Schoepflin of Granby with whom she made her home, Jan Briggs (Richard) of Laconia, NH, Gretchen Taylor (William) of Humble, TX, son-in-law Dale Williams of Weatogue; five grandchildren Jason Wert (Andrea) of NY, NY, Stacy Cusack (Michael), of Milford, NH, Alicia Carsen (Daniel) of Gilford, NH, and Connor and Chase Taylor both of Humble, TX; five great grandchildren Olivia and Benjamin Wert, Matthew and Hailey Carsen, and Jordyn Cusack; ; a brother James Jenkins of FL. , a sister-in-law Katherine Jenkins of Canton, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Richard, she was predeceased by a daughter Pamela Williams, a sister Jeanette Young and a brother Richard Jenkins.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, September 25, 2016, from 5-8 pm at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby. A funeral service will be Monday, September 26, 2016, 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial in Granby Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Farmington Valley VNA, Granby Ambulance Association or First Congregational Church Sunday Meals, Granby.
