
Yvonne “Vonnie” Cianciulli, 69, beloved wife of Nicholas J. Cianciulli of Granby, passed away at her home on Friday, September 8, 2017.
Vonnie was born in Bristol on January 25, 1948, daughter of the late Roger LeBlond and Mary (Burlock) LeBlond, and resided in Granby for the past 17 years. She graduated from Torrington High School and Waterbury State Technical College where she earned an associate’s degree in computer processing in 1967.
Vonnie began her professional career at Bell Labs in New Jersey but in a little over a year she married Joseph J. Laccone, Sr., settled in Waterbury and started a family. She briefly worked for the Travelers Insurance Company and later Timex before Joseph’s failing health required Vonnie to stop working in order to care for him.

After her husband’s passing, Vonnie returned to college to refresh her computer skills to successfully re-enter the workforce. It was about this time that she reconnected with Nick whom she would spend the remainder of her life. She resumed her position at Travelers Insurance where she enjoyed a rewarding career as an Information Systems Manager retiring in 2012. While at Travelers, Vonnie was a member and involved in the leadership of the Traveler’s Employee Club serving in various roles over the years.
She was active in the International Workers Compensation Organization (IAIABC), Rebuilding Together Hartford Chapter, and the Granby Senior Center where she was a proud member of the Civic Engagement Team.

Vonnie was also passionate about education and volunteered time mentoring underprivileged youth in Hartford throughout her career. Described as hardworking, determined, social, and caring, Vonnie’s beautiful spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her and will never be forgotten.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 21 years, Nicholas J. Cianciulli of Granby; her son, Joseph J. Laccone, Jr. of West Melbourne, FL; two brothers, Thomas LeBlond and his wife Ann of New Britain and David LeBlond and his wife Michelle of Windsor; a sister, Leatha Warrenda and her husband James of Litchfield, NH; a sister-in-law, Lisa LeBlond of Simsbury; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and colleagues. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1985 and a brother, Richard LeBlond.
Her family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 120 West Granby Rd., Granby. Burial will be privately held.
