Granby Places in Top 10 of Final Field Hockey Poll

The Bears wound up the season as Class S runners-up, finishing with a 17-2-1 record.

Last weekend's three state field hockey championship matches were all exciting, with just a one-goal margin deciding each contest. That closeness carried over into the final coaches poll of the season, with three different schools receiving first-place votes.

Class M champion Daniel Hand garnered six top votes to place first in the balloting. Class L titleholder Staples and Class S winner North Branford also collected first-place votes.

Granby Memorial (17-2-1), which dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker to North Branford in the Class S finals, wound up seventh in the final polling.
