Granby Places in Top 5 of Final Boys Soccer Poll

The Bears advanced to the Class M semifinals, finishing the season with a 17-1-1 record.

After knocking off top-seeded Naugatuck in the Class LL boys soccer finals, Glastonbury High School became the top choice in the final weekly balloting of the state coaches poll.

The Tomahawks received 12 of 14 first-place votes to snare the season-ending top spot. They finished their championship season with a 17-2-1 record.

Daniel Hand, the Class L champion, collected the other two first-place votes.

Lewis Mills of Burlington was the unanimous pick of 10 coaches in the Class M-S polling. The Spartans scored with 10 seconds to play to defeat Suffield 3-2 in the finals.

Granby Memorial (17-1-1) wound up fourth in the final M-S balloting.
