Granby Police Department Welcomes New Officer

The Town of Granby will have a new officer patrolling the streets next year.

Officer Michael DeSimone grew-up across the border in Southwick, Mass. most of his life. He graduated with honors from Saint Anselm College with a bachelors degree in criminal justice and interned at the Department of Homeland Security.

DeSimone will start the 25-week Police Academy on Jan. 2 and then has to complete 10 weeks of field training.

The Granby Police Department has a total of 16 sworn officers.
