Granby Police Explain Increased Presence
Officers will train at 5 Canton Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Police say there is no emergency or public threat.
GRANBY, CT — Granby police will hold a training exercise at the former Kearns School on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and are advising residents to expect more officers in the area.
The exercise is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5 Canton Road, according to a notice from the Granby Police Department.
“There is no emergency or threat to the public,” the department said.

Residents and motorists may notice the increased police presence during the six-hour exercise.

The department said the training is intended to prepare officers for a variety of situations. Its notice did not specify what scenarios officers will practice.
