Granby Principal Resigns Over Distraction Caused by Involvement in Horror Movies

Granby Memorial Middle School Principal Mark Foley has officially resigned

Granby Memorial Middle School Principal Mark Foley officially resigned Wednesday after he and a Windsor guidance counselor were accused of being involved in the production of erotic horror movies.

Granby Superintendent Alan Addley accepted the resignation and said that Foley was a successful principal, but that he acknowledged the distraction caused by his involvement in Moongoyle Entertainment LLC., according to NBC Connecticut.

The two educators’ involvement in the company was brought to light in October.

Addley added that Foley’s involvement in the company was legal, but members of the school community expressed concern.

Both educators were suspended. Windsor guidance counselor Aaron Vnuk returned to work.

The Granby Board of Education concurred that Addley had the authority to suspend Foley and review all the facts.

There is a divide in opinion over the matter. Some feel their involvement was inappropriate because they deal with children on a daily basis, while others feel what educators do outside of school hours without students is their own business.
