Granby Receives Votes in Latest State Field Hockey Coaches Poll

The Bears sport an 11-2 record thus far this season.

GRANBY, CT — A rare occurrence of back-to-back losses dropped Granby Memorial High School out of the top 10 in the latest weekly Connecticut field hockey coaches poll.

The Bears won their first 10 outings before running into a couple of shoreline buzzsaws in Joel Barlow and Westbrook last week. Granby came back with a vengeance, pasting Somers 9-0 Tuesday.

The top 10 rankings and records through Tuesday, Oct. 18:

  3. Darien (11-1-2)
  4. Wilton (10-1-2-1)
  5. Enfield (9-1)

  9. Joel Barlow (11-1)
  10. Nonnewaug (11-0-1)

Also receiving votes: Westbrook (12-1), Granby Memorial (10-2), New Canaan (9-3-1).
