Granby Residents To Weigh In On School Budget
Granby voters will have two chances this month to weigh in on the Board of Education's proposed budget.
GRANBY, CT — Granby residents will get a chance Monday to weigh in on the Board of Education’s proposed 2026-27 budget before it goes to voters later this month.
School officials are proposing a 3.55 percent budget increase. According to information shared by Superintendent of Schools Cheri Burke, that includes 1.98 percent tied to contractual increases, 1.28 percent tied to special education and 0.29 percent for all other expenses.
The public budget hearing is scheduled for April 6 at 7 p.m. It will be held in the Granby Memorial High School auditorium.

The town referendum is scheduled for April 20 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voting will take place at Granby Town Hall.
Residents who cannot vote in person may still be able to cast absentee ballots if they are eligible. More budget information and absentee ballot details are available through the school district and town websites.

According to Burke’s post, the hearing is intended to give residents a chance to learn more about the proposed budget and share input before the referendum.
