Granby's Lost Acres Vineyard to Host Chef Dinner
Dinner, which will pair the vineyard's wines with several courses, will take place on May 10 at 6:30 p.m.

For those who are still mourning the loss of Granby’s Copper Mill Bistro, which closed due to the economic downturn, here’s a chance to enjoy an exquisite meal from its former chef.
Granby resident Matt Tofil, who was the head chef at Copper Mill and is now the manager of the Meat House in Avon, is preparing a Chef Dinner at Lost Acres Vineyard at 80 Lost Acres Road in Granby on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m.
“It’s a chance for people to come back and say hello [to Tofil] and eat some delicious food again,” said Michelle Nidermeyer, who co-owns and operates the vineyard.

Niedermeyer said that Tofil will prepare the Chef Dinner much of the same way he cooked at Copper Mill - by using products from local farms.
“We’re excited for this event,” Niedermeyer said. “He went out of his way to use local farms.”
Several courses will feature local specialties like Sweet Pea goat cheese and Sepe Farm lamb.
What’s more, each course will be paired with a Lost Acres Vineyard wine, such as the Wedge White (which will go with the deep roots leeks vinaigrette and marrow), the Chardonnay (which will accompany the tender shoots asparagus and spring salad) and a brook rose that has not been released yet, but is being featured with the wild king salmon.
Dinner is $75 per person, plus tax and gratuities. Reservations can be made by calling Lost Acres Vineyard at 860-324-9481. For more information, visit the vineyard’s website here.
