Granby Teen Remains in Critical Condition
Seventeen-year-old Tyler Pollock remains in critical condition Monday after being struck by a moving car near Salmon Brook Park Saturday.
Seventeen-year-old Tyler Pollock remains in critical but stable condition Monday morning at Hartford Hospital, police said.
Pollock was injured Saturday when he was struck by a car in a crosswalk while on his way to Salmon Brook Park in Granby to meet friends. Police said the car's driver, North Granby resident Michael Lambert, was not injured in the accident.
Lambert was traveling north on Salmon Brook Street when his car struck Pollock as he crossed the busy street from the east, heading toward the park.

Pollock had been dropped off across the street from the park by Roger McGarrahan so he could meet McGarrahan's son Nicholas, 17, at Salmon Brook Park to play Frisbee after taking the SATs earlier on Saturday.
McGarrahan, who did not see the incident, said witnesses told police the driver was not driving unreasonably fast but did not have a chance to slow down before hitting Pollock.
"I guess he just stepped out in front of the car," McGarrahan said Saturday. "There really should be a light here."
Granby Town Manager William Smith said the town has looked into ways of addressing the traffic situation at the main entrance to Salmon Brook Park, but no plausible solutions have been discovered.
"This was very tragic," Smith said. "It's one of the saddest things when something like this happens so close to home."
Police are continuing their investigation and are requesting witnesses to the accident call the Granby Police Department at (860) 844-5335.
