“I am committed to expanding renewable energy uses and ensuring that this generation acts as good stewards of our land. Renewable energy sources, clean water, and protected lands aren’t just good for the environment and our quality of life, they are good for the economy. It’s time the 8th District had a Senator whose voice can be heard on this topic,” says Osborne.

The State of Connecticut Ethics Board issued an opinion stating that Witkos is not allowed to discuss, champion for or vote on energy related initiatives in his official capacity as senator, denying residents of the 8th Senatorial District representation on important energy matters. The opinion was issued in response to Witkos, who was at sitting member of the Energy Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly, accepting paid employment with the Government Relations Division of Northeast Utilities.
