Granby Woman Accused of DUI, Driving Wrong Way on Route 5 in South Windsor

A Granby woman was recently arrested on DUI charges and accused of driving the wrong way on Route 5 in South Windsor.

Patricia Glenn, 57, of 51 Hemlock Road in Granby, was arrested Dec. 9 on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, evading responsibility and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.

The charges stem from an incident on Dec. 9 in which South Windsor Police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on John Fitch Blvd and Chapel Road at about 10 p.m.

Police said one vehicle left the scene driving northbound in the southbound lane of Route 5.

Officers located the evading vehicle on Route 5 by Sullivan Avenue. The investigating officers suspected that the operator, Glenn, was under the influence of alcohol.

Following a series of roadside sobriety tests officers arrested Glenn. She was later released on a $5,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 22.
