Great Classroom Achievements By Granby, East Granby College Students

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided to Patch by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester, in which nearly 1,300 students were recognized for maintaining high GPAs.
  Among the students were Logan French of East Granby, majoring in exploratory professional studies; Kristian Kowalski of East Granby, majoring in environmental earth science; Aidan Hennessy of Granby, majoring in computer science; Grady Kelly of Granby, majoring in business administration; and Chelsea Newton of Granby, majoring in early childhood education and English. To qualify for Dean's List, full-time students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in letter-graded courses with an average GPA of 3.5 or higher in the semester.

Ithaca College, Ithaca NY

• Mark Jones and Rachel Larson, both of Granby, were named to Ithaca College's fall 2022 Dean's List.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• East Granby resident Julia Redfield was named to the Dean's List at James Madison University for the fall 2022 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Redfield is majoring in communication sciences & disorders.

Purchase College, Purchase NY

• Hannah Cronin of Granby was named to Purchase College's Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester. Cronin is studying psychology. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs and 3.75 for Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Music Performance programs. They must take a minimum of 12 credits.

Regis College, Weston MA

• Alexis Nichols of Granby was named to Regis College's fall 2022 Dean's List. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Regis sophomores, juniors, seniors, and professional studies students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher; first-year students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.

Siena College, Loudonville NY

• Luke Jennings of Granby was named to the Siena College President's List for the fall 2022 semester. The President's List requires a 3.9 grade point average or higher.
• Courtney Cassin and Bailey Yeager, both of Granby, were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student's grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.

The Citadel, Charleston SC

• Eric Wilson of East Granby is among the more than 1,200 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2022 semester. The dean's list is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (Incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester. Cadets who are named to the dean's list receive a medal, which is worn on their uniform during the semester following their academic achievement. Non-cadet students on the dean's list are presented a certificate.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

• The following local students were named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall 2022 semester: Ekaterina Santos of East Granby, Honors; Grace Klucznik of East Granby, Honors; Sydney Farley of East Granby, High Honors; Sean Trombly of East Granby, High Honors; Adam Wilson of Granby, Highest Honors; Haley Clark of Granby, High Honors; Kevin Jones of Granby, Highest Honors; and Thomas Deliso of Granby, Honors.

University of Tampa, Tampa FL

• Nicholas Smoolca, of Granby, graduated from the University of Tampa on Saturday, Dec. 16. Smoolca earned an Entrepreneurship BS degree.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

• Brian Boyle of Granby was named to the dean's list for the fall 2022 semester at the University of Vermont. Boyle is majoring in biochemistry. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Two local students were named to the Dean's List for fall 2022: Caitlin Strzegowski of East Granby, majoring in environmental engineering, class of 2023; and Prior Waskan of Granby, majoring in mechanical engineering, class of 2026.
