Hartford Stage to Audition Child Actors for A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas

Local children of all ethnic backgrounds, ages 5-13 years old, are encouraged to audition.

Hartford, CT, September 8, 2014Hartford Stage will hold auditions for children of all ethnic backgrounds, ages 5-13 years old, for the Tony Award-winning theatre’s 17th anniversary production of A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas. Children who wish to audition may not turn 14 years of age until after December 28, 2014. Rehearsals begin Thursday, November 13, 2014 with performance dates fromFriday, November 28 through Sunday, December 28, 2014.

A Christmas Carol is Connecticut’s premier holiday entertainment. Inaugurated in 1998 by former Hartford Stage Artistic Director Michael Wilson, the show has quickly grown to be enjoyed by tens of thousands of adults and children annually.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, October 8 and Thursday, October 9 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. with callbacks on Friday, October 10. Auditions are by appointment only, and there are a limited number of appointments available. To schedule an audition, call 860-520-7103 Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or emailartistic@hartfordstage.org. Audition location and requirements will be discussed when parents or guardians call to arrange an appointment.

Hartford Stage has produced nationally renowned titles, including the New York transfers of Enchanted April, The Orphans’ Home Cycle; Resurrection (later retitled Through the Night); and Quiara Alegría Hudes’ Water by the Spoonful, winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
