Police are investigating an armed robbery at an East Granby bank Wednesday afternoon.Around 3:50 p.m., troopers from State Police Troop H in Hartford and the East Granby Resident State Trooper's Office responded to a reported bank robbery at The First National Bank of Suffield, on Turkey Hills Road, public information officer Trooper Kelly Grant said.Upon arrival, troopers determined that a lone suspect, a light-skinned male, possibly Caucasian, entered the bank through the main entrance. The suspect was armed with a knife, and wearing dark clothing, to include attire covering most of his facial region, and gloves, Grant said.The male suspect jumped over the teller counter and entered the cash drawers, then exited the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. He was last seen leaving the area, traveling east on Route 20 in a small black SUV, possibly a Chevrolet, Grant said.State Police detectives from Central District Major Crime (CDMC) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.CDMC asks anyone who may have information regarding this incident, or information about the suspect, contact detectives at <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href>860-685-8190</a> or text TIP711 with the information to 236748.
