Loud Bangs Expected During Police Training In Granby

Police warned residents to expect increased activity around the former Kearns School.

GRANBY, CT — Residents near the former Kearns School may hear loud bangs and notice increased police activity Thursday as officers conduct a training exercise.

The training is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the former school property at 5 Canton Road, according to a notice from Granby police.

Police said the exercise may produce additional noise throughout the area. The department did not provide details about the type of training planned.

“We appreciate your cooperation during the exercise,” police said.

The town has been considering the redevelopment of the former Kearns School property, which is no longer used as a public school.
