Brewery's East Granby Expansion Is Now Pouring

The Windsor Locks brewery says its East Granby location will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the end of June.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Windsor Locks brewery has officially started pouring in East Granby.

Luppoleto Brewing Co. said the former Almost Famous Brewing space has fully transitioned to Luppoleto and is now soft open after the company received its liquor permit.

“The torch has been fully passed,” the brewery said in a post announcing the soft opening.

The new East Granby location is at 17 Kripes Road. Luppoleto said it is still working on finishing touches for setting up and decorating the space, but is ready to welcome customers.

Luppoleto’s original Windsor Locks taproom is at 20 Main St. The brewery said that location remains open during its regular hours.

The East Granby taproom will be open through the end of June from 3 to 10 p.m. Fridays, 1 to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 7 p.m. Sundays, according to the brewery.

The Windsor Locks location remains open from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 3 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays, according to Luppoleto.

The soft opening marks the latest step in Luppoleto’s expansion beyond Windsor Locks. Earlier this year, the brewery said it planned to move the bulk of its brewing operations to East Granby by taking over the space previously occupied by Almost Famous Brewing.

Luppoleto had described the move as a “passing of the torch” from Almost Famous to Luppoleto, with a transition period before the East Granby site became fully operated by the Windsor Locks-based brewery.

The company said it had been looking for a larger space when the East Granby opportunity emerged. Its proximity to Windsor Locks made the former Almost Famous space worth a closer look, according to the brewery.

Luppoleto was founded by Jennifer and James Wright. The brewery says its name means hop farm or hopyard in Italian, a nod to James Wright’s Italian and agricultural heritage and the couple’s early decision to plant hop plants years before opening a brewery.

For now, Luppoleto said it is still working on lining up food options for the East Granby location. Customers may bring their own food while those details are still being finalized, according to the brewery.

The brewery said more information about the new space is available on its website.
