UPDATE: Arrest Made in Granby Stabbing

A suspect has been charged in connection with Friday's incident.

Granby police have identified the suspect accused of stabbing another man Friday at a Granby car wash.

Dellard Martin, 26, of Lebanon Street in Hartford is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

He posted a $50,000 surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Enfield on Jan. 26.

The victim has been released from the hospital.

A man was stabbed Friday afternoon at the Granby Auto Wash on Salmon Brook Street, Capt. William Tyler said.

Granby Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the car wash at 3:55 p.m. An altercation occurred between two males in their mid-20s known to each other, and one was stabbed in the abdomen, Tyler said.

A description of the suspect’s vehicle was broadcast to area agencies. Bloomfield police stopped the suspect at Blue Hills and Elizabeth, and he was taken into custody without incident, Tyler said.

The victim was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and is in surgery. His condition was not immediately available, but Tyler said the injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect has not yet been publicly identified.
