PURA, the CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, is a three-member quasi-judicial body that oversees and regulates the state’s electricity, natural gas, water and telecommunications companies. Thus, this agency has significant responsibility for monitoring industries that economically impact virtually 100% of our state’s citizens, private and public commercial enterprises as well as municipal budgets.

Michael Caron, commissioner for PURA since his appointment in 2012 by Governor Malloy has a deep bench resume well suited to meeting the goals and challenges established for his office and staff.
