Missing East Granby Teen Found, Registered Sex Offender Arrested

Police found Angelica Moquete unharmed, but arrested a registered sex offender.

Police found missing teen Angelica Moquete unharmed and arrested a registered sex offender whom she was with.

Angelica Moquete, 15, went missing on April 10. Police issued a Silver Alert and began the search for her.

State Police investigators found her on April 15 in an apartment building at 33 Rowe Ave in Hartford.

They found she was in an apartment with registered sex offender Jonathan Gonzalez, 23, police said.

She was there of her own volition, but Gonzalez had violated conditions of his probation by having unsupervised contact with a minor, police said.

He was taken to Troop H and charged with violation of probation. He was held in lieu of $1 million bail. Additional charges are likely.

Angelica was transported to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford for evaluation.

Gonzalez was convicted of risk of injury to a minor involving contact with intimate parts of someone under the age of 16 in 2007, according to Connecticut’s Sex Offender Registry and court records.
