Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA
- Tyler Rome, Class of 2020, from Granby, was named to the dean's list at Bucknell University during the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

- Zachary Winslow of Granby has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester.
To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.30 GPA, have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester. Full-time students must carry 12 or more graded credits for the semester.
Emmanuel College, Boston MA
- Emmanuel College celebrated its 95th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 13, 2017, adding hundreds of graduates to the global network of Emmanuel alumni who are making their mark on the world. Local graduates were Erin Walsh of Granby, Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies & Elementary Education, magna cum laude; Austin Ebersole of West Granby, Bachelor of Arts in English - Communication & Media Studies; and Samantha Martin of East Granby, Bachelor of Arts in English - Communication & Media Studies, magna cum laude and with Distinction in the Field.
Merrimack College, North Andover MA

- Zachary Hesketh of Granby recently graduated from Merrimack College during the 67th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 21. Hesketh received a BSBA in Business Administration.
Springfield College, Springfield MA
- Springfield College recently held its commencement weekend. At the graduate commencement, 658 master's degrees, six certificates of advanced graduate study, 15 Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 34 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, and five Doctor of Psychology degrees were awarded. At the undergraduate commencement, 873 bachelor's degrees were awarded for a two-day total of 1591 degrees. Lauren Holt of Granby earned a bachelor's of science degree in Athletic Training; Breanna Jackson of East Granby earned a master's of social work degree in Social Work; and Megan Lira of Granby earned a bachelor's of science degree in Sports Biology.
- Springfield College has named four students from Granby to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2017 term. Lauren Grashaw is studying Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant; Jessica Storch is studying Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy; Frederick Moffa is studying Movement & Sport Studies; and Bryce Alexander is studying Sport Management. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.
University of Vermont, Burlington VT
- Aubrey Koehler and Stephanie Arsenault of East Granby have been named to the University of Vermont Dean's List. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
Wesleyan University, Middletown CT
- On May 28, 2017, Rebecca Jun of East Granby graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA degree in Economics.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA
- Connor Hoeckele of Granby, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in India. The project was titled Visability of Improved Chulhas in Himachal Pradesh. In their project summary, the students wrote, " Utilizing stakeholder feedback in addition to our own test results, we designed and built an improved chulha."
