GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — College students from the Granbys recently achieved these accomplishments, as reported by readMedia Newswire.
Assumption College, Worcester MA
- Assumption College has announced that 535 students have been named to the College's prestigious undergraduate Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester, including Jenna Snyder, Class of 2018, from Granby. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.
Siena College, Loudonville NY

- Catherine Sullivan from Granby graduated from Siena College on Sunday, May 14 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. The College awarded 799 degrees to the Class of 2017.
University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI
- The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 5,290 undergraduates have qualified for the spring 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, many other states and countries.
Granby-area students named to the Dean's List were Kane Vincent Russell of East Granby, Leke Gorani of East Granby, Megan B Kuhnly of Granby, Sarah M Pizzanello of Granby, Kaitlyn R Moskey of Granby and Andrea Dewey of West Granby. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
Western New England University, Springfield MA

- Matthew Francoeur of East Granby graduated from Western New England University with a Master of Business Administration. The graduate ceremony was held on Sunday, May 21, with nearly 400 students receiving masters, law, and doctorate degrees from its Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, and School of Law.
- Kevin Blanchard of East Granby graduated cum laude from Western New England University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. The undergraduate ceremony was held on Saturday, May 20, in the Alumni Healthful Living Center. Approximately 600 students received degrees and several ROTC Cadets were commissioned as officers.
