Assumption University, Worcester MA

  • Assumption University has announced that Julia Swanson, of East Granby, Class of 2024, has been named to the university's Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

  • Jack Donald DiMeo of Granby, a senior majoring in aeronautical engineering / mechanical engineering, was named a Presidential Scholar for the spring 2022 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.
  • Owen Richard Danke of Granby, a freshman majoring in computer science, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Lasell University, Newton MA

  • Jake Ouellette is a member of the Lasell University Class of 2022. Undergraduate degree recipients were honored at an on-campus ceremony on Saturday, May 14. Ouellette, a resident of East Granby, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in fashion communication & promotion.
  • Three local students were named to the Lasell Dean's List in recognition of their spring 2022 academic performance: Jake Ouellette of East Granby, Karissa Gaughan of Granby and Ryan Stone of Granby. To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • Taylor Whitehouse of East Granby, a member of the Class of 2023, has been named to the spring 2022 Dean's List at Stonehill College. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford CT

  • The USJ Chapter of Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the national Chemistry Honor Society, held an induction ceremony for three students on campus on May 4, 2022, and recognized the achievement of its five graduating seniors. Gamma Sigma Epsilon is an honor society in the field of chemistry. Gamma Sigma Epsilon graduating senior Sophie Padilla of East Granby is a graduating double major in chemistry and biology who has been accepted into a Ph.D. program in chemistry at UC Irvine.
  • University of Saint Joseph (USJ) undergraduate students earned their way to the Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester. Students were awarded this academic achievement for having earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the semester, with no grade lower than a "B." Local honorees and their majors were Kathryn Kelly of East Granby, nursing; Maria Sophia Padilla of East Granby, biology; Courtney Carpenter of Granby, nursing; Elizabeth Fetzner of Granby, nursing; and Emily Wassick of Granby, nursing.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

  • A pair of local students graduated from the University of Vermont during commencement ceremonies in May. Meaghan Leonardi of Granby graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies, and Sosie French of East Granby graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in animal sciences.
  • Max Hollister, a neuroscience major from West Granby, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2022 semester at the University of Vermont. Hollister is in the College of Arts and Sciences. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
