Motorcyclist Killed in Route 20 Crash in East Granby
A motorcycle collided with a car Tuesday afternoon.

EAST GRANBY, CT — A Windsor man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on Route 20 Tuesday afternoon.
Joseph Sandamena, 24, of Windsor, was traveling westbound on Route 20, also known as Rainbow Road, when his motorcycle collided with the front end of a 2002 Subaru Impreza turning left out of the Phillips 66 gas station near Larch Drive around 4:31 p.m., according to a state police report.
Sandamena was thrown from his motorcycle, a 2009 Yamaha YF-RBL, and was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

The operator of the car, Robert McArthur, 61, of Harwinton, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford with minor injuries, state police said.
The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact Trooper Andreas Spoerk at 860-534-1000.
