Moving Crew Member Hit By Car in East Granby

State police are investigating the Tuesday night incident.

EAST GRANBY, CT — The wingman in a moving truck crew was hit by a passing car on Tuesday as he was trying to help the driver maneuver through a local intersection, state police said.

At about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday an Atlas moving truck was taking a right-hand turn onto Spoonville Road at the intersection with Seymour Road, state police said. A member of the crew, 66-year-old Robert Louis Perryman, of Stone Mountain, GA, went into the intersection on foot to help the driver negotiate the turn, state police said.

He was then hit by 1999 Subaru Legacy traveling east, driven by an 18-year-old from Pleasant Valley, NY, state police said.

He was transported to Hartford Hospital with suspected serious injuries, state police said.

The teen has been cooperative and the accident is being investigated, state police said.
