Ordinance Town Meeting to be held December 3rd
Senior Community Center, Thursday at 7:30 pm

Town Ordinances are the specific laws that the Town of East Granby operates under in addition to State Statutes. The Town has engaged General Code Inc. to review all existing ordinances for spelling, grammar, organization and compliance with State Statutes. Any changes recommended by General Code are limited to non-substantive or minor changes. This review is basically for “housekeeping” issues and not a re-write of all ordinances but just a correction of format and making sure that we are in compliance with State laws that have been passed since the last codification project ten plus years ago. Any new ordinances or major changes would be addressed at a separate time anticipated to be in the Spring / Summer of 2016. Proposed ordinance changes have been reviewed by the Board of Selectmen, Town Clerk and Town Attorney and presented at a public hearing on November 5, 2015.
A copy of the current ordinances, proposed ordinances, specific proposed revisions and the derivation table from old to new are available on the Town website www.eastgranbyct.org . A printed copy of the ordinances and changes are also available from the Town Clerk located at Town Hall. The Board of Selectmen has called for a Town Meeting at the Senior and Community Center on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:30 to act upon and consider the proposed ordinance changes.
