Granby Teen Struck By Car
17-Year-Old Tyler Pollock Hospitalized After Being Struck by a Car on Salmon Brook Street Saturday
Police are investigating an accident on Salmon Brook Street that sent a Granby teen to Hartford Hospital Saturday afternoon.
Seventeen-year-old Tyler Pollock was reportedly struck by a car traveling north along Salmon Brook Street as he was crossing the street. The car was being driven by North Granby resident Michael Lambert, police said.
Pollock remains in critical condition at Hartford Hospital, a press release from the Granby Police Department said. Hospital staff would not provide an updated condition Sunday morning.
Pollock was on his way to meet friends at Salmon Brook Park to play Frisbee after finishing his SAT test earlier in the day, a friend's father said.

"I had just dropped him off," said Roger McGarrahan, father of Pollock's friend Nicholas McGarrahan. "They had just finished their SATs."
Pollock went to McGarrahan's house earlier to borrow a Frisbee, McGarrahan said.

"I told them, 'I can give you a ride,' " he said. "Now I wish I hadn't."
The accident occurred just after 2:30 p.m., at the entrance to Salmon Brook Park, where a crosswalk is located, police confirmed. The Life Star medical helicopter was notified, but was later canceled, according to dispatchers.
"The good news is they got here really fast," McGarrahan said. "He had medical attention right away."
Police said The driver of the car, North Granby resident Michael Lambert, was not injured.
Officers are continuing to investigate and anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Granby Police Department at (860) 844-5334.
