Report Ranks East Granby High School on College Readiness
U.S. News & World Report released its top Connecticut high school rankings this week.

The verdict is out on the top high schools in Connecticut after U.S. News & World Report released their rankings Tuesday.
The top three ranked schools in Connecticut are: 1. Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford, 2. the Amistad Academy in New Haven, and 3. Academy of Aerospace and Engineering in Hartford.

East Granby High School was not ranked among the top 50 high schools in Connecticut but U.S. News & World Report still analyzed the school in great detail.
The student to faculty ratio is 11:1 and there are 271 students.

A total of 94 percent of students are proficient in reading and 94 proficient in mathematics.
The key statistic is the college readiness index, which U.S. News & World defines as based on the percentage of 12th graders who were tested and passed the AP exams.
East Granby High School’s score was 38.8, which is higher than the state average. The school’s AP participation rate is 51 percent.
By way of comparison, the state’s top ranked high school has a college readiness index score of 95.3.
A college readiness score greater than 35 is above average and any score between 20-35 is near the state average, according to the report. Any score below 20 is below the state average for college readiness.
