Results From the June 25th Town Meeting
Several capital projects, a Tenneco Easement request and a resolution on streamlining publishing of ordinances were approved.

A Town Meeting was held on Thursday, June 25th and several items were approved by the Town’s Legislative Body. A motion was approved to follow Connecticut General Statute 7-157(b) where ordinance summaries are allowed to be published in the newspaper instead of publishing the entire ordinance. This is anticipated to save a substantial amount of money when the ordinance re-codification project is brought to Town Meeting in the fall.
The Right of Way and Easement expansion request by the Tennessee Pipeline Project (Tenneco) was approved. In 2017, Tenneco plans on adding a pipeline adjacent to its current pipeline and right of way that goes through East Granby. The town property that is effected is on the southern portion of a parcel near Russell and Perimeter Roads. The new easement will be 35 feet wide and 608 feet in length. The Town will receive $16,998.75 from Tenneco for rights to the permanent easement.
Four capital items were also approved by the Town Meeting: $37,000 for a Police SUV vehicle, $10,000 for police radio equipment, $196,000 for road maintenance and $44,000 to replace a broken one-ton dump truck and plow. Additionally, four capital projects that have been completed from previous years were closed out and $13,214 was returned to the capital non-recurring fund.
