Runways Briefly Closed at Bradley Airport

A malfunction on an Air National Guard plane forced a temporary shutdown.

Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks had to temporarily shut down its runways late Tuesday afternoon.

A tire malfunctioned on an Air National Guard C-130 that was landing, airport spokesperson Alisa Sisic told NBC Connecticut.

Sisic told the station the plane landed in an area that requires airport staff to shut down the runways, but they were expected to reopen in no more than 30 minutes.
