UPDATE: 10-Year-Old Located After Granby School Put in 'Shelter' Mode, Report Says

The incident took place Monday after a child reportedly ran away from school.

GRANBY, CT — A 10-year-old was located after running away from a Granby school, NBC Connecticut Reported.

Wells Road Intermediate School was placed into "shelter in place mode" Monday afternoon while authorities searched for the missing 10-year-old, administrators told WFSB.

The school is located at 134 Wells Road. The child reportedly ran from the school.

The boy left the school at about 12:20 p.m. and was found 70 minutes later, according to NBC.

K-9 units from Bloomfield Police, State Police,and the state Department of Correction assisted, Fox 61 reports, while adding the school was placed in a "shelter mode" to ensure the dogs could focus on finding the child.
