American International College, Springfield MA

• Christina Latorra of East Granby has been awarded a Master of Science degree in nursing from American International College.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

• Quincy Williams of West Granby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 21, in a Commencement ceremony concluding the college's 211th year. A history major, Williams graduated with departmental honors in history and completed an honors thesis titled "An American Conundrum: How Notions of Morality, Race, Immigration and Gender Have Shaped the Debate over the Legislation of Prostitution."

Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH

• Frank Troiano of Granby graduated from Plymouth State University during its 152nd Anniversary Commencement Ceremony on May 12, 2023. Troiano graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• Anthony Bonadies of Granby, who is studying information tech & web science, has made the Dean's Honor List for the spring 2023 semester. Rensselaer's Dean's Honor List is compiled at the end of each semester to recognize undergraduate students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5 grade point average or better for that term.

Shenandoah University, Winchester VA

• Carolyn Adams of Granby was among the 1,143 students who graduated from Shenandoah University during the 2022-23 academic year. Adams earned a Doctor of Occupational Therapy.

University of Maryland Global Campus, Adelphi MD

• Peter Koropey of Granby earned a Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude in computer science from University of Maryland Global Campus in spring 2023. Koropey was one of nearly 3,400 students who earned degrees from UMGC in the spring semester.

University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford CT

• Four students from the Granbys earned their way to the Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. Students were awarded this academic achievement for having earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the semester, with no grade lower than a "B." Local honorees were Samantha Barnard of Granby, majoring in child study; Rachel Bittner of East Granby, majoring in nursing; Courtney Carpenter of Granby, majoring in nursing; and Emily Wassick of Granby, majoring in nursing.
