State Tournament Play to Open for Granby, East Granby Teams

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Cross country is over, swimming brackets will be announced later this week and football still has three games to go, but four other sports begin their state tournaments over the next three days, with all involving teams from Granby Memorial and/or East Granby high schools.

Listed in order of better seeds, here is the upcoming tournament schedule for Bear and Crusader teams:

• boys soccer (M): Nonnewaug/Ansonia winner at No. 1 Granby Memorial, Wed., 11/8, 2 p.m.
• girls soccer (M): Wolcott/Amistad winner at No. 2 Granby Memorial, Thurs., 11/9, 2 p.m.
• field hockey (S): No. 15 Litchfield at No. 2 Granby Memorial, Tues., 11/7, 4 p.m.
• girls soccer (S): No. 21 Westbrook at No. 12 East Granby, Tues., 11/7, 2 p.m.
• girls volleyball (M): No. 20 Brookfield at No. 13 Granby Memorial, Mon., 11/6, 6 p.m.
