GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some more recent notable accomplishments by college students who hail from Granby and East Granby. The information is provided to Patch by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

  • Alexandra Czerniak, of East Granby, and Russell Stone, of Granby, were among 216 undergraduate students representing five countries, 12 states and Puerto Rico who graduated from AIC.

  • Caroline Miltenberger of West Granby graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in sport management from Castleton University following the successful completion of the spring semester in May 2022. Castleton celebrated the accomplishments of members of the Class of 2022 at its 235th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14. This year marks the first in-person, university-wide commencement in three years.

College of Saint Rose, Albany NY

  • The College of Saint Rose congratulates Gavriella Rutigliano of Granby, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

  • Hundreds of students graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University at the conclusion of the spring 2022 semester. The university's annual commencement exercises occurred May 17 at the XL Center in Hartford. The graduate-level ceremony occurred May 14 on Eastern's campus. Melanie Kellogg of East Granby graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in labor relations & human resources management. Amanda Blejewski of Granby graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Megan Ryan of Granby graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Madeleine McGee of West Granby graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

  • Zachary Orluk, of West Granby, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2022 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above. Orluk, a rising sophomore, is a graduate of Granby Memorial High School.

Ithaca College, Ithaca NY

  • Justin Lacharite from East Granby graduated Magna cum Laude from Ithaca College with a BS in applied psychology.

Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA

  • Rebecca McCord of Granby graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and communication and a minor in documentary storymaking. She was also named to the spring 2022 Dean's List, awarded to students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Ohio University, Athens OH

  • Ellen Hesketh from Granby graduated with a BFA dance - performance and choreography from Ohio University's College of Fine Arts in spring 2022. More than 4,400 students graduated with bachelor's, master's or doctorate degrees from Ohio University for spring semester 2022.
  • Ohio University Scripps College of Communication student Sam Schock from West Granby and College of Fine Arts student Ellen Hesketh from Granby were named to the spring 2022 Dean's List.

Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY

  • Harrison Canning of West Granby graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in applied arts and sciences. Some 4,300 degrees were conferred in the 2021-2022 academic year at all of RIT's campuses. RIT's 137th academic convocation celebration was held in May.
  • Three residents of the Granbys have been named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring 2022 semester: Anthony Delprincipe of East Granby, computer science program; Jonathan Jacobs of East Granby, computer engineering program; and Jake Peverly of Granby, computing security program. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Springfield College has named five students from East Granby to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2022 spring semester. Those students and their primary majors are: Laura Brassard, communication sciences and disorders; Emily Kelly, education; Jade Kiang, health science/pre-physician assistant; Victoria Hall, health science and pre-physical therapy; and Rose Hart, psychology. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

  • Natalie Schock from West Granby has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the spring 2022 semester. She attended Granby Memorial High School. Schock is a member of the Class of 2025. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

  • The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the local students who have been named to the President's Honors List and the Dean's List for spring 2022. They are Cailin Hesketh of Granby, Daniel Litin of Granby, Thea Padilla of East Granby, William Pitney of East Granby, Eva Pockoski of Granby, Elena Speliopoulos of Granby, Kayla Tran of East Granby and Natalia Vicencio of Granby.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

  • The following local students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the spring 2022 semester: Grace Klucznik of East Granby, High Honors; Sydney Farley of East Granby, Honors; Sean Trombly of East Granby, High Honors; and Adam Wilson of Granby, Highest Honors. Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.
