Sweet Wind Farm to Host Maple Festival Next Week

The 6th annual event will take place on March 10 in East Hartland.

Sweet Wind Farm will be hosting its 6th Annual Maple Festival on Saturday, March 10 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. in East Hartland.

Arlow Case, originally from Granby, and his wife Susan have been making maple syrup together for over 25 years. Prior to constructing a new sugarhouse in East Hartland, the Case family made syrup for over 40 years at Arlow's Sugar Shack on Bushy Hill Road in Granby.

Arlow Case began making syrup when he was a child, following in the footsteps of his Grandfather and Uncle. His father, also named Arlow, started him out with a homemade evaporator set up in the backyard, and Arlow tapped more and more trees in Granby every year, where to this day he still does.

The Maple Festival will feature maple syrup and sugar making demonstrations, classes and tours, pony rides offered by Fiddlehead Farm in Granby, bounce house and storytime for kids, recipe class, sugar-on-snow eat and more.
