TAKING A PULSE ON HEART HEALTH
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the US.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the US, accounting for 1 in every 4 deaths, and affecting significantly more men than women.
With that in mind, there seems to be a conflict of rhetoric versus action on the part of the American public in that while we have a growing demand for "healthy" lifestyle options for eating, exercise classes and sports activities, the public continues to consume endless snacks, soda and alcohol while watching sports on TV and at live events, view endless cooking shows, devour fast food on the run and elect to patronize "all you can eat" restaurants both in the name of "saving time and money" respectively.
What it really gets down to is you being responsible for your personal life choices and those of your children who need to be directed toward sensible eating habits. Yoyo dieting and extreme measures such as liposuction for those who can afford it in their adult years are actually harming their bodies when "maintenance" throughout life is the rational choice.
