The Liquor Cabinet in East Granby Broken Into Again

For the third time in three months, the liquor store located on Rainbow Road was broken into.

East Granby resident troopers are investigating the third break in of in three months.

Patrolman William Flynn said that police responded to a call at 11 p.m. Thursday evening that the liquor store located at 54 Rainbow Road had been broken into.

Flynn said that the alleged perpetrator, a male, was caught on video driving an “older,” lightly colored (white or silver) Toyota Camry.

“We don’t have a lot to go on it,” Flynn said. “We can’t tie one person down to it. We’ve arrested one group of people for [breaking into the store], and a new group of people start.”

The perpetrator broke the door to the store and took a case of wine and some quarters in the register, according to The Liquor Cabinet’s general manager Sergio Castro, who added that the popular items to take, cigarettes, were not on display.

Castro, for his part, remained undaunted despite the recent spate of break ins.

“It is what it is,” Castro said in a telephone interview. “What am I going to do? Stay home? It’s just the way it is. We’ve got some video, so we’ll see what happens.”
