Town Meeting - January 28, 2015

Board of Education Request for a Capital Appropriation for School Security Project

A Town Meeting will be held at the Senior/Community Center on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to consider and act upon the appropriation of a sum not to exceed $142,426 from the Capital Fund for school building security work as approved by the Boards of Education and Finance. The $142,426 plus a previously appropriated sum of $78,285 will represent the Town portion of a $405,000 school building security project. The remaining $184,289 will be provided by a State of Connecticut School Security Grant. Please note that the $142,426 is not a new request for funds but is from the Capital Plan as approved by Town Referendum in April as part of the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 annual budget. Whenever boards access the individual capital funds they must request approval at Town Meeting.
