Victim Identified in Granby Farm Accident

The man was killed during a mishap involving a tractor, according to police.

GRANBY, CT — Police have identified the victim in a farming accident that took place Sunday evening.

Gilbert Hale, 88, was working on his property on Hale View Drive around 7:31 p.m., and operating a small agricultural tractor. Investigation indicates that he turned off the machine and dismounted. The tractor then rolled, striking him, Capt. William Tyler said.

Hale was pronounced dead at the scene, Tyler said.
