WEATHER UPDATE: Extreme Heat Tuesday; Stormy Weather Later

Temps will exceed 90 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday before we see some rain and storms.

Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to exceed 90 degrees for the entire state except for New London County, which will see temps in the mid to upper 80s.

More heat and humidity will hang on Wednesday as Hartford and Tolland counties will see readings in the 90s while the southern half of the state will see temps in the mid to upper 80s.

But late Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms are expected, which will last through most of Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties because some of the rain will be heavy and can lead to flash flooding.
