WEATHER UPDATE: Granby and East Granby's Stormy Weekend Forecast

We had been on a roll of having gorgeous weather weekends for the past six weeks or so, but that is about to change somewhat this weekend.

It’s not a complete washout as Saturday is definitely the best weather day of the weekend.

In reality the best weather is forecast for today with sunny skies and temps in the high 70s in southern Connecticut and into the mid 80s in the northern part of the state.

For Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon hours along the southern half of the state, while there appears to be no rain threat in the northern half of the state on Saturday.

Plenty of sun is also forecast for Saturday with highs between 77-83 in Connecticut with cooler temps at the shoreline.

On Saturday night, thunderstorms are possible for the entire state and that carries over into Sunday.

Fog may also be an issue late Saturday/early Sunday and then it will be cloudy all day on Sunday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and evening.

Here is Granby and East Granby’s latest hyperlocal National Weather Service forecast:

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind 5 to 9 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 6 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9pm. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 73. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday Night: Showers likely, mainly before 3am. Patchy fog after 1am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
