WEATHER UPDATE: Snow Accumulation Prediction Made for Granby and East Granby

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for a long duration significant snowstorm that is expected to dump between 10-14 inches of snow on the area.

Light snow is forecast for today, which will grow heavier and steadier late tonight and throughout the day on Monday, the National Weather Service predicts.

Hazardous driving conditions are expected and of course the worst of the snow is predicted to fall during Monday morning’s commute to work. Winds are also expected to gust up to 35 miles per hour as well.

But there is some good news once we get past this latest storm, there appears to be no new significant snow chances as of right now in the National Weather Service’s seven day forecast through Saturday. Of course that can always change too.

Here is Granby and East Granby’s latest hyperlocal weather forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today, Snow showers, mainly after 4pm. High near 27. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tonight Snow. Low around 16. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Monday Snow. High near 22. North wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Monday Night Snow, mainly before 5am. Low around 13. Wind chill values as low as -1. North wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday A chance of snow, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. North wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
