Winter Sports Practices Begin: A Look at Granby Winter Team Titles
Bear squads have won two team championships in the current winter sports; East Granby is still seeking its first.

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — It may still be November, and football season is still going for those who made the state playoffs, but the winter sports campaign is officially upon us as practice begins Monday for wrestling and girls basketball.
Boys and girls indoor track, girls gymnastics, boys basketball, boys swimming and ice hockey all begin later this week.
With players taking the court and mat later this afternoon, dreams of a state championship berth in March are already formulating in the minds of athletes and coaches alike.

Here is the state championship history in winter sports for Granby Memorial High School (note: East Granby has never won a team title during the winter):
- ice hockey, 1 (2015-II)
- boys basketball, 1 (2013-S)
