Winter Storm Causes School Delays Throughout Hartford/Tolland Counties

All but one school system in Hartford and Tolland county towns containing Patch sites will open on a two-hour delay basis Monday morning.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTIES, CT — A weekend storm which dropped up to a foot and a half of snow in some areas of Connecticut has made an impact on the first full academic week of the new calendar year.

With local meteorologists reporting snowfall ranging from 17 inches in North Granby to 3 inches in Newington, school officials in all but one town served by Patch sites in Hartford and Tolland counties have decided to operate Monday on a two-hour delayed opening basis.

The lone holdout is Rocky Hill, which had not reported any delay to local media outlets as of 5:45 a.m.
