Woman Charged With Prostitution at East Granby Spa

A multi-agency investigation led to approval of a search and seizure warrant Wednesday.

EAST GRANBY, CT — An investigation into alleged illegal prostitution activity at an East Granby spa led to the arrest of a New York woman Wednesday.

A state police report says several agencies worked on a joint investigation of the Joy Healing Spa at 56 Rainbow Road, after complaints about alleged acts of prostitution at the facility were received by the East Granby Resident Trooper's Office.

A search and seizure warrant was granted, and was served Wednesday.

Li Chenghua, 49, of Flushing, N.Y., was charged with prostitution. She was released after posting $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Nov. 30.

Cooperating agencies included the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, as well as the resident trooper's office.
