1st Selectman Reminding Greenwich Residents Of Winter Beach Dog Rules
Off-season dog walking on the beach at Tod's comes with responsibility, the Greenwich first selectman said this week.

GREENWICH, CT — First Selectman Fred Camillo this week is reminding off-season dog walkers that certain protocols need to be followed on the beach at Greenwich Point.
The beach is also known to longtime locals at Tod's Point.
"This is the time of year when people are allowed to take their dogs out to Tod's Point, and with that program, comes the responsibility to be considerate of others," Camillo said in his latest Community Connections newsletter.

Always bring a leash, Camillo said.
"For me personally, one of my favorite things to do in the winter is take my dogs out to Tod’s Point for walks around the park’s perimeter and I know a lot of people feel the same way," he said. "When I am out there, I make sure to always bring a leash for both of my dogs so when I see somebody coming towards me, especially when they have another dog, I can put the leashes on."

Poop bags are also essential, Camillo said.
"I also make sure to bring extra bags with me to clean up after my dogs and in case I see someone who has forgotten bags, I can help out," Camillo said.
Camillo said that town officials have already received the first complaint of the season about people not cleaning up after dogs.
"Not only is cleaning up after your dogs the courteous thing to do, it is also the law because dog waste can be a public health risk," Camillo said. "This is something you have to do.While the majority of dog owners in Town are responsible and thoughtful when it comes to bringing their dogs to Tod's Point, just a few ignoring the rules can ruin it for the rest of us. So please, this year and every year, when you bring your dogs to Tod’s Point during the winter, remember to bring a leash and bags so you and everyone else can have fun."
