2 Busted After Sending $30K Worth Of Marijuana To Greenwich Store

Employees of the store quickly discovered what was in the package and called Greenwich police.

GREENWICH, CT — Two men have been arrested by Greenwich police on narcotics charges after they allegedly tried to pick up a package of marijuana sent to the Saks Fifth Avenue Shoe Store on East Elm Street in Greenwich, according to police.

The package, which contained about 5 pounds of pot worth an estimated $30,000 on the street, was shipped to the store on July 12 via Federal Express. After opening it, store employees quickly determined what it was and contracted Greenwich police, which seized the package.

On Monday at about 4 p.m., Harold Stanley Martin, 27, of Douglasville, GA, and Richard J. Flores, also 27, of Staten Island, NY, showed up at the store and allegedly tried to retrieve the package. Officers took them into custody and charged them with:

  • Criminal attempt to possess more than 4 ounces of marijuana
  • Criminal attempt to possess with intent to sell marijuana over 1 kilogram
  • Conspiracy to possess with intent to sell marijuana over 1 kilogram

Both were each held in lieu of bail of $75,000 and are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on
