2 Connecticut Restaurants Among 2016 Top 100 in America: OpenTable
The fine dining website OpenTable recently released its ranking of the best restaurants for foodies in the United States. Do you agree?

Connecticut foodies rejoice! Two restaurants in the state are considered among the 100 best in America, according to the 2016 list by the fine dining website OpenTable.
Arethusa al tavolo in Bantam, Litchfield County, and Thomas Henkelmann - Homestead Inn in Greenwich take the honors for Connecticut. Including those two, only six restaurants in all of New England made the list.
Restaurants in 30 states and the District of Columbia made the list, with California, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia as the states earning the most nods. New York had nine restaurants listed.

"These standout restaurants are delicious destinations for the most passionate eaters -- those for whom dining out is practically sport," Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, said in a statement. "Using ingredients both humble and exotic and drawing culinary inspiration from around the globe, this year's honorees consistently offer thrilling experiences sure to please even the most discerning diners."
OpenTable crunches its annual list using the combined opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews, which are submitted by verified OpenTable diners, for more than 20,000 restaurants throughout the nation.

Of Arethusa al tavolo, OpenTable highlights its sumptuous farm-to-table menu.
"Arethusa al tavolo offers an innovative farm-to-table menu that celebrates the products of the Arethusa Dairy Farm," writes OpenTable. "Chef Dan Magill’s cuisine is modern and comfortable; it features daily-chosen farm ingredients and the freshest and most select products."
At the renowned French restaurant Thomas Henkelmann, OpenTable cites the establishment's flawlessly prepared and presented food, and first-rate overall dining experience.
"Grand Chef Thomas Henkelmann at Homestead Inn provides a memorable experience in every way," writes OpenTable. "Impeccable service, congenial comfortable surroundings that welcome our guests, a wine list of depth, breadth and complexity and above all else creative French food prepared and presented flawlessly."
In addition to Arethusa al tavolo and Thomas Henkelmann, the other four New England restaurants in the top 100 are Bouchard Restaurant and Inn in Newport, Rhode Island; o ya in Boston; The Oxford House Inn in Fryeburg, Maine; and The Table at Season To Taste in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
